Get twenty 2amp agu fuses and build a long fuse block for them.

lol, we arent allowed to run fuse banks due to this very issue...thats a hell of alot of surface area

The box is going to make the biggest difference. If you were a serious competitor squeezing some extra watts at 4ohm would help

I fully agree on both accounts. As to the box, it is exactly to specs, although they recomend a tuning of I believe 32, and im at 35 (34.5 to be precise).

I am hoping to clear 136db, which in my class is very good

Tones create a 100% duty cycle situation (the amp has the potential to pull full current continuously), while music is transient and thus will always have a lower average-over-time duty cycle.

legal, thus the lower scores.. I was humbled the first time I was ever metered in this fashion, wasnt at a comp, but nonetheless was a few db less then I was hoping for.

as1...Treo tsx 12.44 @ 35hz at 2ohm on a MBQ dsc 1500 (750 rms) and trying to squeeze it on a 40a fuse

if you are trying not to blow the fuse maybe rolling the volume if you have a rotary knob on your deck would be the way to go...

thats my plans...roll it up and see how the fuse handles it, and then see how a fuse handles starting it on say 60-70% volume

I'm not sure rolling it up would be the best idea, pretty sure its heat that melts the fuse. Rolling it would heat it up, jumping right to it would be better just time it so you know when to pause it so it doesnt blow. So build an icebox for it, lol, or have a fan blowing on it

meaning pause it on the bass note and just unpause it at full throttle?

I'd do some testing, if you wanted to cheat you could freeze a fuse and bring it in a cooler before the test swap it in. Hell I would atleast test it out put one in the freezer

That proves right there that its heat that kills them

So 1st i would figure out how long it takes to get a good reading on the meter and start adjusting with that in mind
