cubic feet question

my subs are reccommended to have 1.25 cubic feet, but i kept my old box which has 1.54 cubic feet. will this effect sound quality at all or anything else?

Simple solution. Put wooden blocks in the box to lower the internal volume.

Generally speaking, larger boxes will have lower power handling, better group delay, and increased transient response, along with lower overall output.

That really is a small difference, and will be even less after displacement. Take Frost's advice, try some wood in there. Try it both ways, see what you like better, if you can even tell a difference.

Is an excellent technical discussion of group delay. Basically, you want it as low as possible. Too much GD results in a "flabby" and one-noted character.

I saw a car set itself on fire once. It had an all Boss Audio System installed and took its own life. Ofcourse I didn't really see that happen because nobody would be dumb enough to install that, but its safe to say that would be any vehicle's reaction.
