It will bottleneck it, but its still a sufficiently fast CPU, as is a 6400+. I'm betting a 6400+ is 80% or so of the performance of most of the top end chips, and while that sounds bad, my brothers car does 80% the speed of a Lamborghini, which while it doesn't sound as fast, is still 160 MPH and I assure you is god **** fast.
Yea, I guess that sounds about right. Personally my 4400+ is still fast enough for me. I first built this PC mid summer of 05 for college with a 3500+, 1 GB OCZ RAM, 250GB HDD, DFI LanParty UP nf-4 Ultra, 16x DVD-R/W, 520 watt OCZ PSU, ATI Radeon X800XL and a Thermaltake Tsunami case. Last summer I moved most of those parts, really all but the GPU, Mobo, case and PSU and added a 4400+, 2 GB 500MHZ OCZ RAM, 500GB WD HDD, and replaced the DVD burner as the one I had never worked. After that upgrade I honestly have never felt that this PC is slow in any way, especially when encoding movies and the like was literally twice as fast or more. This PC will survive at least next school year for me, and probably the one after that, then once I graduate I will make a new one. Thats why I am getting an 8800 GT, will extend the life of the machine long enough, but is also really the last worthwhile GPU upgrade I can make.
My prediction, not well. As for mine, its runs fine at 1280x1024, with all detail settings turned to low, lol.
