Crx style box in trunk?

I have been toying around with the idea of adding another HD3 for awhile now. Anyways the only way I can make it happen in my trunk would be to go subs up port back. I plan on running like 150+in^2 of port area tuned to 40 in 8.5cuft. The subs would be pointed up through the rear deck. Any input on port position or box design?

This is what I'm doing with my rear deck. The subs and ports are actually going to be above the rear deck and sealed from the trunk, but it could be modified to fit your needs. When I was first playing with the idea I found out that I could fit a bit more than 8'^3 with two 80" long * 30^2" area ports.

I like your idea but i dont think that it would apply to my car. I cant fit the 15s like that unless I do ALOT of cutting. I have already taken alot of material out of my rear deck and Im kind of scared to take anymore out. I would love to seal my trunk off and Im gonna seal my single woofer off before I add another one but I cant do it with two. Any more ideas?

You could make the box a bit lower and longer and have the ports facing the back, either way your not going to have much trunk space after your done, so you have plenty of options.

I can fit two revo 10" in separate t-lines if I never wanted to take the box out in one piece. Before I say that I should ask what the car is, I'll make a rough model if you give me max dimensions and the port size + length for the tuning you want. (I don't have time to mess around in winISD, I'm making the box in my previous post and hoping to have it done before the weekend.

Car is a 1997 mercury sable. This just a rough sketch of what im lookin at doin.



Max dimensions are 13.5" x 37" x 42". Im probbably lookin at building this in the trunk so Im tryin to make it as easy as possible to build. Im tryin for around 160sqin of port to 40hz. In 8.5cuft the port should be around 19 inches. If you good sketch up a better design that would be great. Good luck on your box.
