Its either that or snadbox sand. Pool filter sand is recommended supposedly cuz it is more uniform in size and its lighter, makes things look better, and its cleaner and doesnt contain any clay. They are both around the same price PFS is $6 and play sand is $5 for 50lb bag. Now i just gotta see if they have it at the home dept near me.Silica sand has tons of jagged edges on it to help catch algae and other trash. It would work better if you use it as a filter.
