Why the water turned green after a big rain, but their is no algae whatsoever. Why it won't settle to the bottom and vacuum out. Why 5 bags of shock didn't do a dam thing to it.

I **** at keeping up a pool.

The first summer/fall I lived here the pool got clear easily, and stayed that way till closing time. All I had to do was vacuum it every once in a while.

What were your CL levels before the storm?

Go get some algicide and clarifier. Backflush your filter after a day. Then during storms put your cover over the pool if you have one and run your pump. If you don't have a cover, get one.

I don't have problems in storms, but my dad has similar problems with his above ground in Indiana. He also does a mini shocking directly after a good storm.

Also control your PH level. If it is too high then chlorine and shock is ineffective.

Sounds like a plan, you can pay them with churros.

I told you to use bleach, it's stronger and cheaper! Lot's of bleach.
Also get your water tested for copper, I think you have copper in it and it's having a reaction with the chlorine.

I have decided to opt for a freshwater fish instead of a dog.
