If you mean it syncing, you can turn that off. I used to hate it, but then I realized I was compulsively making sure my song count in iTunes matched my iPod anyways. So I said fuck it, and turned it back on.

What happens is, iTunes loads one album under various artist and sometimes breaks up the album if there are featured artist on it. Really annoying.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean now. The newest eminem cd was like that. I eventually got pissed off at trying to organize it correctly and just deleted the whole album...
