I've done it before. With impedance rise you can probably get away with it, depending on the amp.

Depending on the amp you sometimes can get away with it. But you still are going to be generating a lot of extra heat and wear and tear on the power supply and transistors...

I wouldn't recommend it, but I don't think it is always a death sentence. I ran my Orion 2500D at 0.5 ohms for quite some time.

The problem with my door is there is no holes for me to deaden the outer skin. Only the speaker opening

Since it's fiberglass the outer door skin, I don't think it'll be as bad as if it were metal.

I think I'll be good deadening directly behind the speaker and spraying in some foam.

Perhaps I could cut the deflex pad and piece it around the bars going across behind the speaker?
