I probably won't post that, but I will post my conclusion.

I am hoping I can find each of those 3 trends in the data....since retail sales have only been tracked since 1992...it's sketchy at best

I am saddened by the amount of people who think our country is a democracy. We live in a republic, which is why we elect representatives....sheesh

Even Nashville, which has a metro form of goverment resides in Davidson County. Pretend there was no Davidson county.
The concept boggles the mind.

I believe it has to do with who has jurisdiction over the land.

Here in Phoenix, we've got Phoenix PD and Maricopa County sheriff, not to mention DPS (Highway Patrol). They both have control over the land. But in those "independent cities" only the city government has jurisdiction over the land inside city limits. The county has no control of it. Land that is outside city limits is considered county land however.

Am I right with this Dawson?

Yupp.

Everything is basically completely separate. Schools, police, fire dept, and even utilities.

The cities and counties basically have nothing to do with each other at all. The only police that have jurisdiction everywhere are the state troopers.

And the county sheriffs have to ask permission before they are allowed to pull people over inside of the city limits.

I really hope this girl works out. It's gonna be hard competing with her just getting out of a 2 year relationship and her self esteem being extremely low. I'm having to slowly build her confidence up and show her I care anyway I can. I like challenges, I just don't want the effort and time spent wasted ya know?
