We are the only early birds most of the time.

Dev, when you were down here what school did you attend? Know anything good or bad about St. Pete college.

After some research I may talk to them seriously.

I was at SPC. Its decent. The online classes are good, and the teachers I had were alright for the most part. The best thing about them is that they are owned by USF now, so right when you get done with SPC(AA), you can immediately transfer over since the credits/classes go hand-in-hand. You can also take classes at USF while attending SPC so when you do transfer to USF you will have that much less to do. Its called the SPC->USF program or some shit, they guarantee all of your credits transfer.

The only thing bad(terrible) about SPC (and you dont have to deal with this) is their VA people. they are slow as hell and fuk everything up.

Also, I played around with the laptops last night, well this girl in class. We talked for a min about her laptop. She has the Pentium processor VS the C2D, and it's just fine. If I can get a good deal on a C2D, I'd take it...
Pentiums **** more energy=less battery time ans run a lot hotter than a C2D. I don't think they are worth the savings. They Pentium processor is built on a platform that is now 7 years old.

I see, so there is definite recognition there.
Is there a difference between dual core and core 2 duo? Is it just different wording.
Dual core is just a term for a chip that has 2 processors on a single die.
Core 2 Duo is a model of processor from Intel that is Dual core.

Intel also has Dual core Pentiums

Amd offers dual core Athlon 64s under the model X2

Both companies also offer quad cores of their flagship processors.

Touche. I have a Pentium dual core in mine. Seems good enough for me.

I see. She didn't mention that. She just had a laptop and I asked her some questions. Perhaps C2D is what I have to get though.
The one I posted yesterday has a webcam and some kind of recognition software such that it must recignize the user or something.

Is the one I am looking at now.
I have a Compaq and like it.

HP doesn't generally get good reviews by most, but they don't get shitty reviews on the same hand. I have and HP centrino that I have had good luck with. I only go it because price was right at the time(2 years ago) and it had a defeatable touch pad.

While it may be good enough, for just a little more C2Ds can be had now which offer a better platform.

But if I can get the Centrino Core 2 Duo for the same price, it seems like that is a better deal.
the savings is just so minimal to me over the Pentium and C2D models that I think it is no brainder to go with the C2D.
