When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur, I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world, I made my arms short and I roamed the back yard, I chased the neighborhood cats, I growled and I roared, everybody knew me and was afraid of me, and one day my dad said "Bobby you are 17, it’s time to throw childish things aside" and I said "OK Pop", but he didn't really say that he said that "Stop being a fucking dinosaur and get a job".

So I thought, I'll be a doctor for a little while... and then go back to that.

It has more USB ports, and the chipset is supposed to be better based on the reviews. The reviewers may or may not know wtf they are talking about.
I am generally more comfortable with the Sony brand. I have never heard of Acer, thus, I am suspect.

If you are going to become a peripheral junkie then I guies the USB ports may be a concern, but I wouldn't use it to choose a laptop. If I needed more than I'd buy a cheap external USB hub later. I have a network of dektops with peripheral attached to them that I can accesswirelessly on my laptop so this doesn't concern me.

Sonys have always had a cheap feel to me. My friend had a Sony desktop he had to take to BB twice for Motherboard replacement.
