I bet it is like that thing I saw for HP....except it needed a keyboard and mouse, and not just a remote.
However, if I did this, the storage space is only limited by my pocketbook as I have unused rooms.

Well yu need a remote to setup and use like a PC from time to time but not al lthe time.
The media extenders would be fully remote.

By this time, it seems the budget gets closer and closer to $2 or 3k. However, the options seem without limit.

For 2k I could outline a media server to put media on and 2 extendrs to build easily. Server goes out of site and extenders go in the rooms you want "on demand" control.

If storage is your bigget concern, you are lucky, because storage is the cheapest part of making a media server. HDDs are ridiculously cheap compared to tother necessary components. The raid card I would use is a bit pricey, but the shhds themselves are not imo.

So, I went by another car lot today. The car salesman asks me for contact information and I give it to him. He then asks how I heard about their dealership.

I tell him that I drive by it several times a week. He says, "come on, my boss will flip out if I put that down. He spends a lot of money on advertising."

I say, "fine, if you don't like my answer then put down whatever the hell you want to. I don't give a shit."

He laughs nervously and I say, "seriously, I don't know why you even bother asking me if you don't want to know the truth."

WTF is wrong with these assholes? They all play this little game where they try to make the customer feel responsible for management's satisfaction with them.
