ATTN DBMIKE:

Can pools be refinished? I may be obtaining a pool (in ground) that is at least 10 years old maybe 20 and the walls seem to appear as though they are degrading. Also, the pool is only half full and so green you can't see the bottom. It is about 15 feet by 30 I think. Bout the same size as DeMan's if you remember his pix.

What will I need to do to recondition the pool and what will it cost?

It snows in Tennessee?!
This was taken in Tennessee while headed down to Florida for spring break

Sure it can, but it will cost lots of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif:greedy://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif:greedy: considering what you'll be using.

Remarciting isn't cheap, ranges from $1500-$4500 for most residentail pools. (needs to be done every 10-15 years)

Pebble-tek/diamond brite which is very common now is great stuff, yet it's also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif:greedy://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif:greedy: (pretty much there for 20 years or so)

Painting is also good, yet cheap. It gets overlooked often though.

Couple grand ain't too bad. I was afraid it would be up in the 5 digit numbers. It is ugly as **** so I'd have to do something anyhow.

What about the green glob in the bottom half? Do I have to drain, clean, and refill? or can I just somehow get it from green slime back to blue water and then add more water?
