I picked up an 84 S-10 Blazer for free. After I let the fiance drive it I thought I was going to have to replace the clutch.
Depending on fluctuating gas prices, that extra 270 gallons in gas would be almost an extra $1,000 per year. I have no clue how much you make in a year, but I'm guessing that at the very least that would be a whole week of work, maybe two, down the drain just to pay for the decrease in mpgI wasn't complaining of gas mileage....not a concern of mine.
Apparently, people's biggest beef with this truck is that it isn't comfortable enough. It's a truck, not a Cadillac.
I highly doubt they drop it to 10k and I dont trust any motor by GM that isnt a 4.3l v6, 5.3l v8 or 5.7l v8CarMax only offered me $2,000 on my truck. I am hoping I can get that truck down to about $10,000 out the door. If not, I'll walk.
Are you strait selling it to carmax or trade in? Carmax will rip you a new ******* if you just sell them your car.CarMax only offered me $2,000 on my truck. I am hoping I can get that truck down to about $10,000 out the door. If not, I'll walk.
You must be unfamiliar with 3.1 and 3.8 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifI highly doubt they drop it to 10k and I dont trust any motor by GM that isnt a 4.3l v6, 5.3l v8 or 5.7l v8

My little 1.9 DOHC is still kickin at 170k.
She cannot comprehend the use of a clutch. I tell her not to let it out so fast and we ride through first gear with the clutch halfway engaged. I tell her to let it out and she lets it out before giving it gas. She doesn't understand you need to hit the clutch as well as the brake. We couldn't even get far enough to practice shifting gears. It was horrible. Plus being that the truck is so old, it's carbureted and that was a chore getting it started.tee, ill teach her how to drive a stick
I dont trust that motor. Its not old enough for me to feel comfortable.Supposedly, the I5s are a good motor. Like the 4.3L I have, it has a stupid plastic intake thing that leaks and uses dexcool.
The great thing about my position, is that I don't need a new truck right away. But I feel that I will have to start doing more than just routine maintenance on my s-10. I want to have a good idea of what I want before I have to have something.
Whatever I do, I won't lower the next truck. Lowered trucks look good and all, but it limits hauling and makes for a rough ride.
How many miles on it?the I5 is a good motor IMO... my moms runs strong, but doesnt get the best mpg'z
Trust me, carmax is not customer oriented. They are a large chain out for your money. The car industry is full of crooks...you just got to find the less crooked.I was looking to trade in.
I went to carmax as it is very customer oriented. That way I can see what I wanted/liked/etc, then leave and negotiate at a another dealership.
I haven't test drove the Colorado. I liked the Dakota very well....it was a 4x4, which made me a bit nervous.
use your hands to show her that the clutch goes up as the gas goes down... if she cant understand hand motions you might want to re evaluate your decision to marry this broad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifShe cannot comprehend the use of a clutch.
