Sounds like a good idea. When most employers get wind about a union being organized they just fire all the employees.

Why should salaried employees not have benefits? Because they don't pay dues?GM should terminate the benefits of the salary employees. It would save the company money and maybe help fund building a White Castle on location.
Especially since salary out number union 10-1 here, but I see that as no different then them barking at the hourly. Not sure...and there inlies the issue.
Still wanting the Sky/Solstice....yet can't haul and don't want a yard full of cars.
I am sure the salaried employees would be thrilled with you at the helm.
If GM is losing so much money, why don't they ask salary to take cuts? Why do they go for the hourly and then go to the media saying the union is ruining them? Why should salaried employees not have benefits? Because they don't pay dues?Stop hatin.
More union employees have lost jobs in the US then salary.Because they fire them.
For one, cuts should be made all around yes. However if you cut only salaried you will get no where. They are but a drop in the bucket compared to what is paid out in total over all hourly. Many times salaried is asked to take a cut or doesn't receive a raise in a bad year. I haven't gotten a raise in 2 years because we are still trying to get this facility financially stable. If GM is losing so much money, why don't they ask salary to take cuts? This. Of course there were more union jobs dropped. They are the most abundant. There were more union jobs than salary jobs to begin with.
I'm not talking about your place but in the big 3 salary has not made any concessions. Their raises are at a larger disproportion then hourly. There are 16,000 employees just at the Tech Center, and only 1600 are union. Then, there are thousands who work downtown at the global headquarters, so it is pretty close in the amount of salary vs. union. My point is, the big 3 wants to attack the hourly and blame the union, but when they seriously try to make concessions to the salary then I'll listen. For one, cuts should be made all around yes. It twas. It is kinda like saying that ugly girls get laid more than good looking girls.'twas my point...I hope.
Hmmm, they treat non union employees better than union employees.I'm not talking about your place but in the big 3 salary has not made any concessions. They are because the big 3 wants to get rid of the hourly workers. You honestly think GM, Ford and Chrysler are ethical corporations?Hmmm, they treat non union employees better than union employees.
Sounds like union members should be pissed. At the union.
