Its my opinion that he wasnt attempting to scam, yet he let his joke upset the OP, one of the kicker leads, the mod team, and a few others.
Either way, the joke went too far the moment he accepted the money...hell, IMO even before then.

False representation with other members helping the cause may or may not be a valid reason for 1 year ban, but it was done and there is nothing anyone will do about it.

It still wasn't a scam, no matter how you look at it, kr was reimbursed the minute he sent money because SM didn't think he would be retarded enough to actually send some random guy online money.

He got his .82 and then some. I personally took care of that part. This was never EVER about actually getting the money. We never thought anyone was that stupid. He gave his real email for paypal, because had he given a fake paypal email that was by some off chance a real account, it would be harder for him to get the money back if he sent.
The .82 lost is because SM never uses paypal and didn't select to refund, instead he sent a payment immediately back. so between him receiving and King ranch receiving, paypal got .82.

That is moot because I sent a payment to KR to more than cover for it.

Not hard to make up, hard to verify that it is indeed fake. I can make up an email address, but I can't verify that it is indeed not a real email possibly linked to paypal. Moron.

While I agree that SM did go too far with the joke (with help from many others), KR was pretty stupid for believing everyone who backed him.

Some big red flags for me were when:

1)people PM'd him that SM didn't work for kicker

Either way though, the joke went on for far too long before it was finally stopped.

Sure KR is an idiot for believing everyone, but doesn't this type of shit happen every day around the world? I don't see you guys ripping apart those people who got scammed because of their n00bishness and saying that the scammer didn't deserve some sort of punishment. Sure, SM wasn't out to scam anyone, but he didn't make an effort to end the joke when he should have. It went way too far and you all know it.

I'm gonna miss SM just as much as everyone else. Hell, I laughed at the thread when I first saw it, but at that point it was only ~10 pages. 40 pages later and it's finally over? IMO the mods should have ended it long before then. Really, everyone on this forum is responsible for what happened. The people who could have stopped it should have, but instead they only made things worse by letting the thread go.

I apologize if you guys don't agree with what I said, but that's how I look at it. I love a good n00b bashing just as much as the next guy, but this escalated beyond a reasonable level.
