While I agree that SM did go too far with the joke (with help from many others), KR was pretty stupid for believing everyone who backed him.
Some big red flags for me were when:

1)people PM'd him that SM didn't work for kicker

Either way though, the joke went on for far too long before it was finally stopped.

Sure KR is an idiot for believing everyone, but doesn't this type of shit happen every day around the world? I don't see you guys ripping apart those people who got scammed because of their n00bishness and saying that the scammer didn't deserve some sort of punishment. Sure, SM wasn't out to scam anyone, but he didn't make an effort to end the joke when he should have. It went way too far and you all know it.

I'm gonna miss SM just as much as everyone else. Hell, I laughed at the thread when I first saw it, but at that point it was only ~10 pages. 40 pages later and it's finally over? IMO the mods should have ended it long before then. Really, everyone on this forum is responsible for what happened. The people who could have stopped it should have, but instead they only made things worse by letting the thread go.

I apologize if you guys don't agree with what I said, but that's how I look at it. I love a good n00b bashing just as much as the next guy, but this escalated beyond a reasonable level.

I agree 100% with you. I know it went too far. No one here can deny that it went too far. Hindsight is a *****. I even nudged in private a few times to pop the bubble before polecat came in. Perhaps I should have publicly nudged and let the cat out. For that I am indeed guilty.

I am only miffed at pinheads like the one in here saying he was scamming him for a lousy $20.

Not hard to make up, hard to verify that it is indeed fake. I can make up an email address, but I can't verify that it is indeed not a real email possibly linked to paypal. Moron.

Ok, Pool question.

Got my fitler fixed, two o-rings had busted. After 10 gallons of bleach, and 5lbs of shock, the water is as blue as can be. Vacuumed all the mess out and everything. Now the problem is, the water is cloudy as shit. You literally can't see past like a foot and a half in the water. I put some stuff from Wal-Mart in it that was supposed to clump the particles togethor and make the pool clear. But its been two days and I don't see a difference.

Well, like I said before -- SM never intended to be taken seriously. Think about it -- KR starts the thread and less than 20 minutes later a Kicker rep pops in and declares that they do not have his amp. Based on what -- the name King Ranch?

Geez. If he was trying to scam the guy he would have tried to make it believable.

BTW, KR had been here long enough to know better. Especially after he was just bruned by Indoaudio.
