I have about equal experience in all makes.
If you are anal about routine maitenance...they last about the same time...except repairs on domestics are cheaper and easier. Plus, domestics have less frequent changes in motors/trannies/etc. For instance, when I was researching trucks to buy, I chose the s-10 I knew a few things would break ahead of time so it was okay.
But if you are a slackjawed jackass who only puts gas in it, change the oil ever 10,000 miles and never LOOK, LISTEN, and SMELL for potential problems...then imports typically fare better.
Since I like GMs and they use the same parts for 10-20 years on 10,000,000 different cars...the parts are cheap, there is extensive knowledge bases, and it works for me.
