I understand that, but in this case the insurance mishap. Not personal negligence and they are upfront about this clearly! As cheap as it is to insure packages, there would be more fraud on it if they didn't state this. Auto insurance is setup for auto accidents, however if you were caught purposefully wrecking as you state in your scenario, they wouldn't pay the claim. That is fraud It is an accident at that point. Of course proving is hard and usually only scammers are busted doing this on extensive stings. Sp in a sense you are wrong. Technically you can't just run into a tree on purpose and be covered. Hopwever proving it would be hard. Plus they just jack your rates and get it back in the end. How is UPS to recover from this type of fraud?
