Well, it would appear that my acquisition of this single 12" was in vain.

It was going to go into the BudgetMobile to conserve some space but if it calls for a 3 cube box sealed and twice that for ported it certainly isn't going to be a space-saver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Well - here's the deal.

I have the two eXcelon 10s in a manufacturer-spec sealed box (.8 cubes after displacement) I have no doubts that were I to use the calculator on bcae1 it would tell me some incredibly monstrous (by way of comparison) enclosure size that they actually need.

Well - that notwithstanding I know from experience (since the 10s are what I ran in Gossamer prior to going with the Diamond Audio M6 12" I use currently) that in the box they are in they sound good off of 5-600w even though they are rated for 200w each.

I may just build a manufacturer-spec sealed box for this 12" and see what happens. If I don't like it I'll just use the 10s I already have. I'm way broke so anything more than about $30 at this stage is going to exceed my budget. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Quiznos, bdaws....

Save your $$ and eat something at home
Negative. This one is a must.

Have you tried putting those figures in BCAE1 to compare? I would trust the manufacturer's specs before BCAE1
Well, going by BCAE1's calc the 12" I have calls for a 3cube sealed box.

Kenwood's specs say between .8 cubes and 1.5 cubes sealed for the 12 with 1.0 cube even being the recommended.

Sealed for the 10s is between .6 and 1.25 with .8 cubes being the optimum size - which is why I went that route with the 10s.

For a ported box for the 12" Kenwood recommends a 1.5 cube box but what would be an appropriate tuning??
