Oh. B J built me one, don't remember anything about a discount though. What I do remember is that after I sent him the money he asked that I send $10 to Ionsql for a design for the box. Oh well. He does do good work quickly.

Indeed with the B&M.
However, I purchased two of the goldwood two 10" enclosures from PE. I busted one with a sledge hammer just to see the quality. It is about as good as I would do myself. Carpeted very nicely (although carpet was on the thin side) strong glue, sealed inside with caulk, high quality binding posts. It would cost me more than $23 to build it.

Yes but can you get them in any dims under the sun?

If I buy a million units of something and spit out 4 different cookie cutter designs using CNC machinery of course cost per unit will be low. Not to mention I would use an off-shore facility to produce them.

I have a dream one can substitute purchasing power for talent. I learned a lot this year. One of them is that a friend can cut about as straight with a $30 circular saw as I can with a $400 table saw.
But my router pwns.

It was home audio so I made it work.

I am not bashing him by any means, but I would make some small sacrifices for 1/5 the price if I could.

Meh, for home you can make such sacrifices. In a car space can be a premium and maximizing it a priority.
