Orbital Sander + wood glue + MDF sawdust. Then paint.I built a box over last weekend. It's pretty cold out to finish. Hopefully this weekend it will be warm enough.
I thought the texture paint would be good enough to hide the seems in the mdf. Not really though...which sucks
I probably wouldn't have done it until I woke up from hibernation. I was a hermit in winters when I lived in Chicago.I was going to sand it down and use wood putty. But the coldness killed my time.
And I do **** at car audio,
Uh I guess I fall in that 90% then. Seems only natural that you cut in order of lengths and not sides. Not really. I learn something everytime I mess up. Most of my problem is due to improper planning or not paying attention.
For instance, I learned on this last box that it comes out a lot nicer if I make all the cuts of a specific length at the same time on my table saw vs. trying to cut one piece at a time. Say you have a piece 18 x 38 and you need two 16x16s. If you cut a piece 16x38 and then 16" strips, it comes out a lot more level. I also learned that I need to store the wood flat to keep from warping.
All things common sense to 90% of the forum, but I have to learn.
Can be a ***** at times. Many times you find yourself saying "if only I had another hand". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifI have never technically built a box by myself.
Ive made them with friends. And Ive even partially built a wall. But I have never mad one by myself.
