Crunch PZI3000.1D any good?

I saw a Crunch PZI3000.1D for sale on Ebay for ~$230 shipped, which is supposed to produce 1500Wx1 at 2 Ohms. Is this a good amp for the money?

I would be using it as a daily driver to power two 12" TC-9-equivalent subs (each sub can handle 1000W RMS), with 4 AWG wire off the battery and 8 AWG wire from the distribution block. They are in a 3.2 square foot enclosure, tuned to 34 Hz. I have a stock electrical system and would like to keep it that way (no capacitors, extra batteries or HO alternators), if at all possible.

For comparison, I currently have one Infinity Reference 611a doing ~750Wx1 RMS powering both subs, and a 4x50W RMS DEI amp powering my speakers.

Would the PZI3000.1D be louder/have better SPL than my Inifinty? I'm not going to compete, I just like it loud and bass-y.

I play everything from Mozart to Insane Clown Posse. I think Mozart weeps when I switch from his stuff over to ICP. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

you need AT LEAST 4 guage to the amp, I would run 0/1 to a distro block then to amps, or a reducer, spend the money (not much more) and buy the crunch GP3000.
Well, you bring up a few more questions: the 4-gauge wire barely fits into the distribution block as it is. Is it safe to use a reducer for the 1/0 gauge wire into the block?

Same for the terminals in the amps, and output terminals in the blocks: is using a larger size wire with a reducer so it fits into the terminals safe?

If I went with the GP3000, would I have to mess with upgrading the electrical system?

Doubt you can find a GP3000 for "just a little bit more". It's more expensive for a reason. I bet you know why though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Uhh...from the few places I could find, the GP3000 is 2x or more than the Pzi 3000.1.

Additionally, the specs are virtually the same (same RMS wattage), the only notable difference being the Pzi 3000.1 doesn't have bass boost while the GP3000 does. Am I missing something that makes the GP3000 worth twice as much as the Pzi 3000.1?

The GP3000 puts out even more than rated power, is unregulated, and strappable. While the Pzi is rated in "Dynamic watts." meh
