Weak eletrical as in stock battery, when I first bought one of mine I ran it off an optima group 31 with 2 runs of 0 gauge and I never had problems.

Well 2 batteries would be good and the easiest to do, then get an alt if you need it.

shitty install with loose wires and improper connections could result in a short and a fire.

otherwise a stock electrical will result in either a blown amp, blown alternator, or ruining the battery. i doubt a fire would happen before these things happen.

for that amp you'll need AT LEAST a 200amp alternator, and 2000 crank amps worth of battery power int he trunk, and 1 run (2 or more would be better) of 1/0 power wire. if there are no dedicated negative runs of power wire then do the big 3 wire upgrades under the hood.

for every 1/0 power run you have another dedicated negative run. negative runs will eventually make thier way back to the alty and ground to the alty chasis. this bypasses the need for grounding to your car and is helpful once you start moving the kind of amperage this thing does.

Would you do a dedicated alternator for the stereo or no?

This way, I figured there wouldn't be the load of the trucks systems on the alt, and I wouldn't get any dimming or anything.

I've never ever done anything with alternators... Like I said I've used amp wiring kits, had small amps, usually around 300W, and just ran power wire from the front battery to the amp, and grounded to the chassis of the vehicle.

And I don't have a trunk

Just buy the 250A model of mechman alts. Then 2 runs of 1/0 and kinetik 2600 batt for the back.

use a 1800 or something up front (whatever fits) one or two 2400 or whatever your budget can fit for 1800+ in the back (all 3 kinetik). Buy terminals that will fit two 1/0 wires (or rig one yourself with crimps) and run two wires for each post to the back of vehicle. Attach to you batts and then to amp.

I would start with 2 batts and then move up to 3 if there are voltage problems. The alt is only if your voltages constantly dips into the 12v range. There is no need to run 2 alts for only 4kw. that one alt will be sufficient for perhaps double that(just a guess).

They aren't named "catchfire" for nothing.Just have a strong electrical and stay above 2 ohm and all should be well.
