Critical Mass UL12's

I am running two UL12's and am still undecided. I was running each sub with a Zapco C2K 9.0 and then had some problems with an amp so one 9.0 is in the shop.

I need to get each sub 2500+ watts before it is fair to really judge these subs. They definitely have a distinct sound, and the sq is better than any other sub I have heard. I went with the UL12's because I wanted 2 12's and i liked the weight and box size and couldn't give up my whole back seat.

I look forward to getting my amp back and really testing them.

Great job man! Looks really good.

with imp rise right under 1 ohm or just over 3 ohms
sry thats a lil confusing to me are you saying I will only be able to run a 1 ohm or 3 ohm load with just 1 sub? also I wanted to say that I called a tech guy at critical mass and he told me that if I was to run a single ul12 in a sealed enclosure the 1.2 cubic feet then I should not be powering it more then 1200 rms. He told me me that the sub would start making a popping noise if i went over it. Its because the pressure in a small sealed enclosure with so much wattage and he said yes thats right. He told me I should run 2 ul 12's if I was to run 2400 rms in a sealed box. what is your opinion on this subject? Also I did pm you asking you about buying a ul12 from you never got a word back from ya. I was told by the tech guy that I would be running one ul12 at 2ohms is this true or not?

So the tech guy is saying the sub will reach mechanical limits (bottom out) with more than 1200 watts in that size enclosure?

he says to use the subs full potential 2500 rms then it needs to be a a ported box which i believe he told me 2.5 cubic feet at 28 hz.

I am trying to find out if the tech guy is right ? And I am also trying to figure out what ohm loads I can run on just one ul12.

Use the sub's potential 2500 rms? Speakers do not produce watts. Hopefully that is just a misinterpretation of what the tech told you. If their tech told you that, that's doesn't bode well for CM's customer technical support.
That plus, dont UL's **** ported?
