I bought mine for like $40 dollars at Lowes, and it's not all that hard at all

And they are very easy to use. Not that expensive, either. You can find them at Lowes, Home Depot....basically any well-stocked hardware store.

Propane torch.

Strip wire, place terminal lug on wire, crimp, heat up lug at the top, let solder pool on top of the wire until you see it get drawn down into the wire/lug connection, then pool it back up on top.

For big wire like 4awg and up, a soldering gun or a torch work the best. An iron just doesn't get hot enough to be effective with wire that size.

But for wire that large, it's just better to use a torch.

I've used a $3 soldering iron from Walmart for 3 years now. Still going strong.

IMO, crimping and soldering is the most effective.

I have an actual crimping tool that crimps up to 4/0

for wire under 8ga i use my Cutter's/ Crimper's

For 4ga and up i use my Crimping tool it's made to go in a vice and dose up to 4/0... love it!
