Crimping / Soldering Terminal

OK i need to attach a battery terminal to a 2/0 wire.

you cannot crimp this, how do attach it to the wire? solder? im i doubt solder will hold this....

you can crimp with a vise. the solder will be able to hold it.

sledge hammer.

we crimped 2 1/0 wires into a 2/0 terminal using a brick and pounding it on the ground before. worked fine.

I used a small propane torch and soldered my 1/0, same would work for 2/0.

you cant crimp this, its solid....

i know you can crimp the ring and spade terminals... but this sh i t is solid.

Tin the wire first, then heat the connector, add solder into the inside, then push the wire into it. Wrap in electrical tape, and it should be prime.

I would do what "Aneonrider" mentioned,but would use Adhesive-lined shrink tubing once you made the connection.Cut the shrink tube to overlap the connection at least a 1/2" on each side.Once you heat the heatshrink,the adhesive liner will start to flow around the joint.Heat this type of shrink tube with either a Heatgun or a blowtorch,and "Do Not get real close" w/ the blow torch flame if that's what you use,and use back & forth motions w/ the blow torch.

And heat all the way around the tubing to make sure the liner melts.You should see some of the liner seep out the ends of the tube.I've used either tool for the job.I used 1/0~Welding cable for my power and ground.The Insulation will take alot more heat than car audio cable insulation,that can melt with too much heat applied.Just my $.02.Good Luck and take your time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif
