Creative Sound SDX15" VS Mach5Audio IXL 15"

Well ****, your box sound like its built to manufactureres specs to

Whats this mach 15 spl I hear about. I'll look into it i guess but I dont think I had the wattage to power it, or they didnt have it in stock or somethin....

For FVCK sakes you guys change my mind alot!

ya that sub definetely aint for me, they arent shipping until late may, doesnt come with a warranty and its asking for 3000rms.....

Anything else for sale in canada? god ****it

Why would I buy something that isnt even aparently meant for SPL? I dont get how EITHER cant be made for SPl though, they both take a good chunk of power, have 20+mm of xmax.....

I dont get why they WOULDNT be loud. But everyone seems to be telling me they wont be

Like I want EXREMELY loud. I want this to be my last setup for a while. I want to be impressed

High power handling and Xmax doesnt = SPL woofer. Those woofers simply werent designed to get extremely loud and take the abuse of an SPL setup. Didnt you say you had 2 1000 watt amps? Why not the Mach 5 SPL then? You'd be running a little under RMS power, but I bet it would still wang. From what I've read they also sound ok for a SPL based driver. I dont know of any other Canadian companies...so I cant suggest anything besides Mach5 or purchasing something from the classifieds.

They currently only have a Mach 5 SPL 12" out for sale, the 15" doesnt come out ntil late may, to long away for me.

And I dont think a single 12, no matter how pretty and nice, would fit the SPL bill Im looking for.

And they dont come with a warranty,,......

But yeah Ive got 2 1000watt rms amps to play with here people!

Maybe 2 Fi BL 15's or an 18" BTL then. 2k really isnt enough power for a pair of SPL woofers. Might as well throw it on 1 18. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

have to buy something that can be bought locally in canada, not crossing any borders and getting my shit stolen again or paying $200 at the door i DONT have

Pretty sure 1000rms per sub should be pretty good to get LOUD

i can see the power being used plus a medium sized recommended box used and low to mid tuning being good with spl while sounding good and doing it with an 18!

Shoulda stuck with the mag //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Selling mine now but it had awesome output ported...
I still have it. Trying to sell both my subs to get something louder. It was the loudest of the 3.

WOT,

Please see the graph. It is the Xmax plot of an IXL-15 in a 3 cube ported box with 1000 watts input. You will notice that the only time it reaches Xmax is at about 21Hz. At that frequency, there is very little, if any music content. Music begins to disappear below 30Hz. Under normal conditions, folks apply a filter - usually at around 25Hz - to ensure minimal driver damage at very low frequencies.

So, you can see that Xmax as a measured parameter means little here. The 1000 watt power handling refers to the thermal power handling of the driver (at least in the case of the IXL). It does not have anything to do with excursion limits.

XBL^2 - this is a design that attempts to level off (or maintain) the BL factor when a driver's excursion increases. It's claim to fame is * lower distortion at higher excursions. Since you will be applying 1000 watts, you will not be taking full advantage of XBL^2 as you will not be achieving high excursion with the power you have.

Now, you want volume. This can be achieved by increasing the tuning frequency of your box. The result will be increased output, but with a slight "peaky" sound quality. One term a person used recently to describe this sound was "violent".

So, if you want your system to slam, I suggest 3.5 to 4 cubes per driver tuned to 36Hz.

* - I use the term "perceived" as I have not seen any empirical evidence showing an actual decrease in distortion values (e.g. distortion curves) of said technology.

I'll ship my 9515 to Canada, but you'll have to cover any exorbitant shipping expenses. It's a **** loud sub, and you can run both your 1000 watt amps to it. It's Dual 1, so you can wire an amp per voice coil, or strapped for a 2 ohm load. $380 + shipping/PP.

not really looking to spedn THAT much on a used sub thanks though, I guess my sub option are still in the air

Best options for far are the Audioque SD 2.5 15's, Kicker CVR 15's, and possibly the Kicker L7 15's
