Crazy loud honing sound!

Forgot to mention I have been back to the shop multiple time after the first install. They checked all the wires/connection multiple times and end result was- check the amp for a issue for 35$/hr The electronic Engineers in chicago couldn't find anything wrong with amp. :/

Yeah. I agree. I had that same kind of honing sound and it would get increasingly louder like it would fade in until I thought something was going to blow. I rushed to turn the stuff off. It turned out to be a ground loop. I cleaned up the bolts and made sure nothing was touching anything it shouldn't and it went away

Did you listen to his vid he posted up? Did it sound exactly like that?

I'll look into the ground this weekend but I know it's making a good contact . (battery is the trunk) 2008 vw r32

I could also try swapping the symbilink transmitter and rule that out.

Sorry hadn't listened to it. listened just now and the noise is literally identical. Mine was the ground. Had that extra wire that I snipped from the LOC I cut out. It also would do it because I was only using one rca cable the other end was touching metal. Once I fixed that it hasn't happened. Ground wire and try grounding the RCAs

Funny you mentioned you hit a bump and it happened. Same thing to me. Caused the unused rca to contact metal and it freaked the F out

Oh dude, and it's more than annoying. It scared the **** out of me. And it kept getting louder and louder. I had to scramble to unplug my rcas. I thought something was literally going to blow up

Hmmm, I'll look into the ground again. Zapcos don't use rca's. Sym balanced wires to the transmitter (transmitter sits behind hu) short rca from ***** to hu

We could prob figure out the problem over the internet faster than those guys looking over his install and say nope don't see anything wrong.

OP, just check a few things 1st before going back if you can. Ground must be bare metal to metal, no paint in between. As I said, it might be a simple fix or something the shop did. Won't know until start looking things over. Hell it could be a lose connection someplace. Bring it to my house....I'll charge ya 25/hr and I bet I can find the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Oh, I Gaurantee it. It's a generalized statement, but it doesn't take long reading around on a forum site before you can tell who knows what the **** they are talking about and who doesn't. Unless I personally know the shop or the people working on my **** whether it's audio, or its mechanical.....I'd rather take my questions to those people on the forums. They aren't lurking or spending their time on a forum site helping people or learning because they are just collecting paychecks.....I'll take the advice of somebody who gives a **** or has an interest over some ******* punching in and punching out on a day to day basis

Agreed. Exp is key in all aspects. Even speakers, subs, amps, etc. List goes on.
