I recently got 2-12inch kicker comps,i didint think they were all that (plus there only 300 watts ) so i was getting ready to take them out but when i was at autozone today this guy that works there was talking 2 me about his 2-kicker 10s he said they were really good so i go out to his truck with him and when he played his shit his little 10s in this sealed enclosure were pushing out way hard(the suspention)i was just waiting 4 one to blow but it didint ,whys that?

Kicker subs can take a beating. Buts its just a matter of time before something goes out on it.
Won't that depend on how hard you beat on it, though?

A buddy of mine has a pair of old Kicker Comps from '91 or so that still play fine.

My ex-landlady has a set of Rockford Fosgate "The Punch Classic" SVC 8 Ohm 10s (that I sold her) that are circa 1987 or so that also still jam fine. A driver that has any degree of build quality to it will last a loooooong time provided you stay within its mechanical and thermal limits.

Yea it does. But it also depends on how well the sub is built. I know from experience that the CVRs do not like 1.5 cubes enclosure at 550 RMS. SO I would imagine the comps would be boutthe same. The CVRS and the Comps arent built like the SoloBaric that can take alot more than what theyre rated at.

I am just guessing that it will be a matter of time before the guys 10s crap out. But I could be wrong. But Ipushed my 12 that hard to where they couldnt extend anymore on some occasions and it ended up that i blew a few. On the last set I had, one of the tencil leads broke off at the cone.
