CRAZY FLEX RD HW's

Steve I have no problem with you saying that you're making a better product and pushing new research. But don't make it look like the rest of us are lowering our quality.

there is alot on controversiatry(SP) about power handling, rms power should be done in a manner wher as a normal days time shouldn't exceed the time rms power is given to the woofer during testing,,, also there are so manny different ways to do the test. personally i think these ratings are sometimes misleading, but they ensure durabillity and true rms ratings...

on the other hand music power handling is completly different.. DD imo rates there woofers properly, they USED to do music power handling, much more realistic..

all in all RD rates there woofers properly as well..

that being said, 12 hour sine wave rms rating for a 3in*3 inch coil is around 2k.. music , on a daily basis it very well could handle 5kw clean, IF its tuned properly...

i put a 2512 d2 on my 1750. not sure what rise was but it was easily capible of 1750@1ohm... for music it was a great match..

I am pretty sure he wasn't talking about the audio industry only. If you would look at the economy, ALOT of companies are down grading and cutting cost in as many ways as possible. I have seen many threads where people have got laid off as well. Hell, look at unemployment numbers. Don't get your panties in a wad.

I'm not sure I would trust any manufacturer who based their speakers on "music" ratings.
funny, music ratings are very different from RMS ratings...

some companies use more strenious methods of rms ratings, some time there not relestic in daily appliations because of impedance rise..

despite have close to 1700 watts to the 2512 rarely does it get 1200+ daily, much closer to 800.. seeing this they can also rate them for "music"... after averging aperant power over an average time it can be extremely accurate..

BTW for 250 very few woofers under 300 can compete with the 2500A..

Well...that sure did go way over your head.

Sundown, DD, RD, DC, Atomic, Cactus, etc. are all great at being loud and reliable...and their amps(if applicable) are great as well. To say that one is inherently better than the other is pretty foolish...we all know install is key.
Yes, Sir Ryan! You know I had to add to the dialectic of things man. I had to fvck with ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

75% was meant to be a reference point. With all the power I am putting on them I know it is over what they should take. I rate the 15” at 3000-3500 RMS at that power they are great. I put more on them to show it’s possible. They do no distort and they sound good.

The SHW V.2 is meant to handle the 4k+ rms. I can play these as long as my electrical permits without any issues.

I often take my own products to extremes to see what it can do. I took the amps to .35 each to see if they would handle it or go into protect or even blow, same thing with the subwoofers. If they were to fail I would find the cause and try to improve it.

If it was a customer’s vehicle I would have three of the Heavyweights in there at no lower than .5 ohm.

The Amplifiers we have been testing very low in many vehicles. With the D series amps we upgrades the mosfet chips, Caps, Heatsink, Transformers, choke filter and a bunch of other things. Really just trying to find there breaking point.

We did this to be able to offer the best products we possibly can.

Many companies have been looking for ways to cut costs during these economic slow times. We have not, we have been trying to improve the whole product line anyway we can.
first off, once again, saying 75% as a reference point means nothing to anybody that knows car audio. A percentage is literally useless in terms of signal output and voltage levels.

and when you say that you run your amps at .35, but wouldnt reccomend a customer to run them any lower than .5, what does that mean? have you benched these amps? Do you know what the impedence rise it?

and the last statement about other companies was very unproffesional and disrespectful on your part. Unless you can give hard evidence, that statement is 100% incorrect, is a low blow, and is idiotic.

Well...that sure did go way over your head.
over your head? yea i misspelled a couple words, but i doubt you could discuss topics "over my head"..

jim, what do u mean i could careless about impedance rise? its inevitable. you will never see dcr, ESP when power compression, inductance and frequency vary...

Compete in what way?

Why not? Personally, I don't give two shits about impedance rise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
power handling, build quatitly, output, durability flexability...

I mentioned because i done an install with one recently, and thry never fail to impress...

Sealed enclosures, in the narrow passband I'm concerned with, generally are pretty stable. Power compression isn't a worry for me.

Power handling and output are not always valid measures of performance.

I'd rather have a Shiva-X over any DD in that price range...
