CRAZY FLEX RD HW's

I've never made a single comment about DC until this thread, because someone said that the level4xl wouldn't take 5kw...even though it has the same coil as the level5, and I have seen those coils handle 6kw. I've also never owned a DC product...good call on me being a DC fanboy though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
How long will a heavyweight take 6kw for on a daily basis? Both subs are being pushed beyond what the company specifies as safe operating conditions...what makes the RD so much more reliable? The fact that you like them more?
It could handle that power forever. The rd gods told me so..

The only answer really to any of this piss contest is not "he said, she said crap"

I remember a while ago when I was just starting to collect subs and play with them for my own personal satisfaction, the oilfield was booming HUGE and I was raking in more money than what I knew to do with.

I was told the 99Z would take 5k+ daily in a musical application... I believed it and bought one and played with it... Well.... in my experimental install with this sub... NO WAY does it take that. I even called DD and asked and they said its not meant for music and id be lucky to get below 40 hz of music with it. And thats why they recommended not tuning it below 45 hz. (old version 99z)

But yet other people have had great luck with high power and that sub, I didnt... I ended up breaking it and selling it...

What im getting at is people, your just going to have to buy the driver and test it out for yourself.... it might work perfectly in your application.. it might not...

I am very hard on things, I break shit.... Hell I broke the 99Z with 4K... LOL.... But I am VERY VERY hard on my HW and it has not failed yet, I have tried clipping it and 220 wall socket, 20 hz cycles in SPL boxes.... and I have bottomed mine out, it has a messed up coil, but it still pounds. And I have a 5750.1 @ .8 ohms with 15 volts and a few extra batts going to it.

I am in the process of getting a LVL 5 and seeing how it holds up, I was also told by a proud member of DC, not going to name names, that the LVL 5 will not take that kind of power daily, but it is one hell of a burp machine. But just cause they said this, doesnt mean im not going to try it, and it doesnt mean it wont hold up.

And trust me, when I get the LVL 5... its gonna get thrown to everything from wall sockets to 20hz burps.... everything... im going to try and break it... just like I do with everything.

Somebody needs to tell me how to get personal gain out of this site //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
personal gain? you mean like educational information about car audio? lol its hard to come by but its here. most of these dudes belong in an aol chat room as far a i think. ive asked alot of questions and what do i get? nothin but a bunch of crap, hell someone even told me they'd come box me, never happened though ofcourse. i like this site but i dont see why it has to be a bunch of a'holes arguing all teh time. i thought i could speak my mind when i first got here but everytime i do someone tries to intervean/contemplate and argue about my post and or how dumb i sound for saying something? its like wow? uhhh, leave me alone n stuff ?loll. i think the only educated person iv met would be ryan and a couple other people.

I mean money.

Honestly, anyone who I'd care to learn something from here, I have other means of getting in touch with them.

The rest can disappear as far as I care.

why does everyone assume that cause u have 12 SD 3000.1's on 2 subs that ur actually putting all that power to them?

There are gains on the amps and subwoofer controls....so unless your feeding them the highest RCA voltage and set the gains with a DMM there not getting all that power.

I could hook up a 6x9 to my AT 5k and claim that it takes the power.

thanks for the first intelligent post yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Sure, those amps are wired down to .35 and have a disgusting amount of power for those subs, but who said he's got the gains maxed out right now while listening daily? ever think about the possibility of retuning for comps/burps?

EDIT: im not trying to disprove the possibility that these subs cant or can handle the power, but im agreeing with jeremys comment

I still think it is hilarious when people who come in, who are supporting such and such company, have to bash on the people for an opposing company to try and make their product look better. I think that is pretty petty, and make me want to stray away from that brand even more.
