Check out the heatsinks on the transistors! Not your typical Wal-Mart Fusion amps...

Check out the flat capacitors, dual 15k uf!

More pics coming...

On both the Sony's pictured, the metal box in the middle of them houses the power-amp section with the torroids, more caps, and more transistors.

On the Xtant (I have two btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ), the transistors are housed behind the metal shroud...They are mounted on the horizontal fan tunnel

nope ' date=' was just used a week ago to try out my brothers DCON's in the trunk of my blown up buick. Works just fine for a walmart POS. :']
So basically nothing is wrong with it. It works fine? But its categorized as crap because it lacks resistors and capacitors?

I have a power acoustik amplifier rated 50x2@4ohm, made in korea printed on the box. It was purchased 10 years ago.. Back then i never heard of the brand, just bought it because it was cheap. When i learned it was a cheapo brand, i figure it was not a big deal. I did not invested much to begin with. Once it dies I will go out and buy a better amplifier. It went from powering subwoofers for the early years then powered the front stage in the last few years. Its still being used today on a daily basis for the beater cars. Not one day went by where the amplifier was not installed in one of the cars. Is it crap because it never did rated? For the price I paid, as long as it made more than 20x2 @ 4 ohm then I did not overpaid for the amp.

There is a myth that when quality parts are used to build an amplifier, the amplifier will produce more power. However one of the important characteristic of a high quality part is the small variance in error to the rated value. A 100 ohm resistor will probalby measure to be 98-102ohm. This mean the amplifiers actual output will be very close to the theoretical output. To please the "underground" crowd, companies just need to design a 1400 watt amplifier, slap a 1200 label and it will be the new forum-boner brand. But when pricing for the amplifier give it a 1400 type price tag. To appeal to the "non-underground crowd", design a 300 watt amplifier. Slap a 400 watt 4000 peak sticker but give it a 300 watt price tag. Which trap did you fall for?

Thank you sir //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Saying the amp is overrated is a marketing scheme.. Retarded ****. That is kinda like "factory upgraded" Nope it is not an upgrade unless it is aftermarket...
