Crack on alt... bad?

i thought it was a chrysler alt, same case in tons of different cars and trucks, is it a HO? or just an aftermarket reman? It probably would be fine but depending on how much ou paid I might ask for some money back. Slap it on and see if it makes funny noises. If it does I would ask for a refund though.

If I paid for an alt and it was described as "mint" or "in good shape" I'd be asking for my money regardless if it worked or not. That is simply miss-representing an item. Bullshit if you ask me.

One way or another, you should get what you thought you paid for. If you think you paid for a bnib alt without any cracks, that is what you should get. If not, then you should file a PayPal claim if the seller does not take care of the issue first.

Ill wait to see what happens. Cant do anything more than that.

Its a iraggi 200a alt jdawg. It was bought for a jeep, but the seller didnt use it. It will work on a 97 3.5L intrepid though. Same mounting as my stock one.

Holy Shit!!!
What a fuked up packing job for an item that heavy...
That is by far the worst packing I have seen. The alt will probably ok if you put some filler in the crack like JB or something but jesus, what a shitty packing job.
Id get a refund quick, as far as insurance goes they aint gonna cover it casue of the shitty packing...
I'd probably inform the seller of this. That is not the proper way to package an alternator.
A. I am the seller.

B. The alt was sent to him in the exact packaging it was sent to me by iraggi alts who more then one person who was talking shit about the packing in this thread claim to be a reputable dealer.

C. The box left in absolute perfect condition, it looks as if it were used as a bowling ball.

D. The box and wrapping inside are quite thick.

E. This would be the third alt i got from iraggi sent in the exact same packaging that iraggi sends every alt in that i ever got.

F. I dont see where the seller asked me repeatedly to use even a smaller box then this one to cut down on shipping cost. I basicly had to say i wouldnt take any part in it if he wanted me to shove it into a flate rate box that was over 1/2 smaller and the alt would be poking out of durring shipping.

G. continue to further posts...

Indeed. If the seller refuses to refund you, the Grinder/Rev task force will be deployed. The seller will never ship anything again. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
H. I took care of the kid after being quite more then accommodating to his often demanding and smart *** messages. I even had to tell him he was the biggest pain in the *** i have dealt with on this board more then once before the thing ever even left.

I. No, you wont be doing shit except sitting behind a computer. If you are feeling froggish then please leap on over to a pm and ill give you all the info you need to come see me if you ever feel the need.

If I paid for an alt and it was described as "mint" or "in good shape" I'd be asking for my money regardless if it worked or not. That is simply miss-representing an item. Bullshit if you ask me.
J. You have allot to say when your not involved in a situation you should learn to zip your lip.

yea, thats def. not BNIB condition.
and same case as on my jeep.
And for the last two quotes, it left my place exactly how is was described. It isnt my fault when the usps decides to go bowling with an alternator. Nothing short of a solid styrofoam surround could of helped that thing live. It was obviously abused by the handlers.

So all in all, STFU if you dont have anyhting to do with this. Also I have been quite a **** nice guy about this whole situation i have 20+ pm's to show it as well. After i sold this alt the seller decided to inform me that he needed it out that vary day, Not only that but he also wanted it shipped priority which wasnt agreed upon at all. I told him he would have to cough up more cash for the shipping upgrade and after at least 5 messages explaining that tossing the alt into a smaller box that was flate rate it wouldnt be safe, he did. I went out of my way the next morning since it had gotten so late by then to get the alt out vary first thing in the am so that it would get to him just as fast as possible.

Yesterday am i get a message saying it arrived how it did and demanding a refund with a borderline offensive email. The nice guy that i am i told him i would take care of him and i was going to get right on it to look into how i had to get this handled. He insisted on a prompt refund so i talked to the post amster a tmy local post office to see how i could handle the claim by myself to accommodate the buyer once again. They said if the buyer didnt want to wait up to 14 business days for the claim to be sent back here via local surrender of the package that they would give me permission to have it sent back to me so that i could handle it all here by myself so that i would be able to issue the refund and have him not have to deal with anything.

I have gone out of my way more then once more then twice and been **** nice to a quite annoying buyer. Is it his fault that it arrived messed up ? No not at all and im an ethical person so i took care of it even eating another $18 to have it shipped back. I paid for everything and refunded every dime that was needed to get it back here so i can handle it.

About the packing, i see lots with a whole lot to say but its all meaningless bullshit. If you look at the pics what tape was used to seal the box ? yeah usps official tape. They inspected the unit before it was shipped and the packaging to make sure it would be safe. After inspecting and it meeting their packing needs they insured it. After that they even taped it up as you can clearly see.

I didnt do anything wrong and anyone who wants words or has something to say to me is more then welcome to do so in sacramento, ca at any point in time. I used what the supplier (dom iraggi) uses and what the post office said was good for that package. It was solidly in there and packed tight. How it arrived is evidence of horrid package abuse that i have never seen quite that bad.

thats about all i have to say right now...

Wall of text :\.

I did read it all though, and as the saying goes there is two sides to every story. The buyer is going to say what makes him look innocent and the seller is going to say what makes him look innocent. Seem neither of you are at fault here, it was the shipping company, maybe even Irragi if you say you just forwarded the box.

ok, dude. if you are going to be selling products then you will have to get used to dealing with *** hole's, get over it. its part of life and not you, me or the guy who bought the alt can change that.

On the other hand if everything you say is true then I think you handled it very well, better then you should have and I give you props for that, but there is still no need to rant about a simple part of life that you have no control over.

I'm not trying to be an *** hole ether, but I do feel the need to express my opinion in this case. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
