OG, still fly.
Just wondering how severe you guys think this is. Im worried about it cracking more over time from use. Should i try to run it, or leave it? Thanks.

there should be no problem with running the alt as it is. as for long term i would first stop drill the crack( drill a small hole on the end of the crack) then put jb weld over the crack. i am not sure that jb weld would do any thing by it self unless you could completely fill the crack

I would return it, you have yet to install it and the place did not pack it well or failed t see it was damaged. To fix pot metal like that is not worth it and jb weld is not going to help

If i could just return it i would. I bought it off the forum here. I dont think a manufacture would ship their alt like this. There is another big dent on the back of the casing. One of the terminals is bent as you can see in this picture. PITA im telling you.

Dam, even the one of the terminals? Heavy item like that with no packing had some solid hits during shipping...
Yeah there is a decent sized dent on the back as well. Some of the cooling vents are pushed it. Im just wondering if it got cracked and dented like that, the pully could be off too. Over time i could get worse im guessing. When i turn it it makes some noise like its rubbing a little on something but it doesnt look or feel bent.
