what do you guys think of coustic subs? I'm thinkin about getting 2 10 inch for my car. I'm upgrading from the pioneer 10s

Which line of coustic are you referring to? There's a shitty line and then a not-so-shitty line. My local Circuit City store has a pair of the decent ones (12s) and they surprised me. if u wanat a good pair of subs that will equal probably about 4 coustic subs would be the elemenatl design K series subs you can get them for about 260$ for a set of 10's edesignaudio.com i dont know about 4 times as much as the coustics, but ive heard great things out of elemental designs

oddly enough I have never heard them,l but now that someone point it out I will make a point of trying to soon

they are the ones with rubber surround....these were last year's model so they don't have the stitching and yellow color on them. They had 2 lines, one with rubber surround and one with foam. I'm getting the one with rubber....I want the 10s but I was leaning more towards the 12s cause I've heard good reviews about them. They're good for rock and alternative since that's what i listen to the most....on the other hand....the 10s will give a tighter more responsive sound though not as deep. I'm leaning more towards sq than spl although i'd like to have some spl in my system....for the occasional burn on the other guy's car.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I live up in canada so the price the guy is offering me is pretty good. 2 10s for 160 bucks CDN. I think he can give me his 2 12s demo for that price too. Guess I can't go wrong for those prices eh? So yeah, they are the better subs that I'm gettin, all my other stuff is pretty up there so no use for me getting crap!

I've got:

pioneer dehp6300 HU

nakamichi 5.25 components for front stage

kicker impulse 5.25 for rear....soon to be installed

ultimate 2 channel for front components (will change to different amp soon)

alpine mrv t707 for subs
