couple pics of my explorer install, advice?

how'd you do that, i use the biggest drill bit i have in my set, just over 3/4 i think. then used a rotary grinder to grind it out, but i did it low in the firewall to have the wire and fusebox as hidden as possible under the hood. got the grommet at lowes, i think it was 5/8th inside diameter, but it was pretty thick, OD was somewhere over an inch.

i found the exact size reamer that i needed for my grommet and the reamer punched straight through the firwall withe not much effort on my part, when u got the right tools installation is a breeze not to say i have all the right tools but that incident made me a believer

this sucks. as i was driving down to the ups store my bass cut out as i was jamming witchy woman at a moderately loud volume. i go home, pull out the amp and this is what i see. this is a simple fix though right? confuses me, i've been beating the hell out of it all week with e-40 and young jeezy, no problems up until now, and it wasnt even at full volume. what exactly are the blue boxes? looks like the bottom one popped to me. guess i'm in the market for a new amp though, i want something bigger to run a pair of btl 18's. those z1's and memphis 4kd's in the classifieds are looking pretty tempting.... warlord possibly.

i should have less of a strain on my electrical with a 5kw amp like an atomic or warlord only supplying 2500 watts to my 15's than i would with something like my vr2kd straining to supply that power right?

anyone have any ideas what may have caused that component to blow while the amp wasnt being pushed hard? i had just finished running it hard for probably 10 minutes and turned it down maybe 5 minutes prior to this happening.

Sometimes they just "go". Sometimes it does't happen instantley. Sometimes a component blows but wont turn the amp off until damage is done to other parts as well. Pushing it hard could have done it, but not nessisarily. It's really hard to guess without having in my hands studying it.
