Ok so im posting this mainly to entertain the people, but it also has a purpose as well. These are pics of an install in a guys 90 something honda accord. Full of issues so far and im still working them out. Wish i couldve gotten pics of the batt terminal hookup, was layed up there literally burning. I pulled it off soon as i started work on the car though
Check out the clean stripped wires going into the amp:
Ground terminal on the amp melted, check out the ground also. "cousin said to make sure i got the trunk closed tight when i wanna play my system" quoted from dude
Speaker terminals? Why bother?
Now to my problems: First problem im having is the amp. When it was first installed by homeboy it was working and everything, however i think it was damaged due to the lack of use of ring terminals and/or proper ground/batt connection/and or fuse holder at the batt. I regrounded it to a stripped spot on the trunk floor with using a self tapper and star washer with an actual ring terminal on it. As you can see in the pics theres copper touching all over the place at the amp, and its halfway melted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif So now that everythings installed correctly sometimes the amp wants to work and sometimes it doesnt, i noticed itll power on for a split sec then blink off, but if you smack it it comes back on. Obviously from the pics he needs new equipment but he insists on using this. Hes powering a super old school set of lanzar max 12"s with it, that are pretty much gone as well.
Second problem: When i first started the install the radio was working fine, but soon as we turned the amp on after everything was done it played fine and whatnot, then all of a sudden it just stopped. Pulled the deck out to find no remote wire installed, and it was actually ran to the fuse box through the brake light circuit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif So i connected the remote wire where it should be and now the deck has no power through the accy wire? I jumped the accy temporarily so it will atleast power up, just told him he needs to shut it down at night till i get this figured out. Whats the easiest way to get another switched 12v source to the radio?
