Couple Amp Questions

1. I read on another post that people had their amp setting at around 25-35hz daily and around 40 was considered very high. According the side of my amp, its hz rating is from 50-250hz. About what should I set it at seeing as how it doesnt even go that low in ratio to my gain setting? I prefer that really deep feel it in your "nuts and stomach bass".

2. Just how important is it to ground your base to the negative battery terminal opposed to a strip of bare metal? And how much more performance will I get on top of it being safer?

3. This is more of box question, sorry. I have a prefabed box but currently under the impression that a vented box will give me that "bass in your nuts" feel I want. Is this true and is it practical to cut a slot or hole in the box I have now?

1.The setting you are speaking of is the crossover, the 25-35 hz is box tuning for a ported enclosure.

2. A good ground is so very important, grounding to the battery is the same as grounding to the frame of the car and in my opinion cheaper ...less wire to run.

3. NO

Ported encloseures must be built to spec, if you put a hole in your box you would have just that a box with a hole in it.
