Could this setup get louder with little to no investment? Please help

My friend has an Orion 2500D, Two dual 4 ohm 04 15" L7s, a mediocre box about 6ft net tuned to 38 hz. He has stock chrysler lhs luxury alt. 120amps,13.9idle 14.3rev. 1/0 Guage wiring, eclipse 5v deck, and 4 polk coaxials. The voltage is probably dropping do about 10v when he plays it loud like a stupid kid.

I told him i could get him a louder or better sounding setup and he will make some money off the deal. I was thinking a less "popular" or really nice old school amp, perhaps just one of the l7s, sell the other, or sell both and build a new box for a new sub/subs. What would you guys reccomend? I say ill charge him 100$ for buidling the box and re wiring his 1/0 decent with a big 3 upgrade. Materials included. Then I planned on a 1400W RMS amp either at 2 ohms on one L7 on new sub/s. What do u guys think? The 2500D and one of the L7s would bring $550 on the forums 350/amp and 200/sub for a quick sale.

so With 500$ taking off 50$ for a home made carepted box ( i have glue and screws to donate, we get our MDF for 12$ a sheet 3/4inch 4x8:naughty: )

We have 450$ left for a little upgrade on the wiring costing 15$ for the big three.

What would be the best/most efficient amp for the dual 4ohm L7 in any box up to 6ft net-port volume.????

Budget is 290$ shipped, can be used

Perhaps an mtx 1501d?

If i only ask for 40$ for helping him out, Whatever we find im sure this kid can have some extra money in his pocket, a cleaner install, better sounding or louder and perhaps some trunk space.

I say set the gain properly. Do the Big 3, and it will be fixed. He only needs like 1200 watts.

I would say keep the same amp ( 1700w at 2ohm ) , big three ( stabilize the voltage hopefully), sell one of the 15's ( money for mdf and to pay you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) , and build a proper enclosure for the remaing 15 (current enclosure is about the size it needs to be for one of the 15's iirc ) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so that 1 l7 in a proper enclosure is louder than 2 l7's in the current box?

I doubt very seriously it would be. I hope your friend isnt going to be disappointed.

yes it would. 1 sub in an optimized enclosure is better then 2 that are suffocated. it will be NOTICEABLY louder.

2 L7's with that amp are perfect (even if you;re running it at 2 ohms).... 90% of the sound you get from your subs are dependant on the quality of the box....BUILD HIMA BETER BOX

correct me if I'm wrong, you told him you could/would redo his system, make it better and louder then what he has, and he can make some money, and you come here to ask what we'd do?

if he's happy, let him just keep what he has, sounds like a decent setup to me........
