Could a PA Mofo-15 take 2000W RMS?

I have a Cadence ZRS-9 amplifier, 1000W @ 2Ohms and 2000W @ 1Ohm. For a while I've been running an Audiobahn Eternal 12'' woofer which handles 1100W RMS, since it's dual 4-ohm coils I've been running it at 1 Ohm, meaning 1000W.

A guy in town offered to trade me subs, I think he's asking for a little cash as well, not sure how much, for a PA Mofo-15. It has Dual 2-Ohm coils, so my amp could push 2000W to it, but it is only rated at 1500W RMS, but 2600W peak.

Couple questions....

Could the PA Mofo-15 take 2000W daily?

Is it a good trade? How much cash should he reasonably ask for since I'll be giving him an Audiobahn Eternal 12'' in a ported box?

i hate to say this but keep the audiobling. mofo's dont sound good at all. just a big gargantuin fart. my .02 cents

it doesnt matter how many watts the mofo can take, just set your amp's gain to the put out the subs rms wattage and you are good to go. but ya i wouldnt trade either, both subs arent anything special

Well I don't exactly have an SQ setup as is.

-Factory front speakers and tweeters

-Cheapest Sony 6x9s I could find for the rear, XploD I believe

-Cheap Sony 4 channel amp, 680W or something, bought it at Wal-Mart

-Cadence ZRS-9 Monoblock Amp, currently delivering 1000W @ 2Ohms to... (I know this doesn't fit, but I got it for free....pure luck...absolutely amazing amp)

-Audiobahn 12'' Eternal in a Ported box

The absolute only thing that is saving my setup from sounding like complete garbage is the fact that I'm running it through a CarPC which is beyond any head unit in terms of sound quality. I've got a high end creative soundcard in it.

I really don't think my SQ could get much worse from a hardware standpoint, I ran a Kicker S12L7 before I got the audiobahn and I didn't think it sounded too horrible, but everybody else seems to think that the Solo-barics have the worst SQ in the world.

I guess the real question is would the Mofo be any louder?

yes that sub will take 2000 watts we put 2000 to a 10 inch mofo and it lasted

im sure a 15" mofo will get louder then a 12" eternal. if you just want louder then sure a good trade. but im warning you it will sound even worse then it does with the current sub you have

Save your money and upgrade to some real equipment.Saves time, and money at the end of the day..
