Could a fried amp blow my subs too?

Well I bought an AQ2200D and it started smoking on me tonight, that's an entirely different thread altogether, but would it cause the subs to go mis-alligned? Because now a couple of them have a coil rubbing noise when they didn't before and the subs didn't go crazy when the amp blew it just started smoking and didn't do anything.

yes it can...when the subs were hooked up they may of received a bad clipped spike

That's what I was thinking. **** man that sucks, I just put in 4 1508's and an AQ2200D and the amp smoked on me tonight and it must have blown the subs too. They still sound okay just make that noise at low volumes. Any idea what a recone would cost dave?

The amp was hooked up fine and wasn't clipping at all and all the sudden it started smoking. I'm a little bummed to say the least.

i think dd charges around $50 or so on the 1500's...at what ohm were you running?

I tink it's all four, I thought it was one at first but I listened closely and they're all making it I think. So what did the amp do exactly? Becuae it sounds like coil rub but I honestly don't really know for sure, I'm not much of an expert in this department.

Sealed box? Air leaks can sound like coil rub.

No, ported. They didn't sound like this before and then immediately after the amp blew I plugged in my orion 1200D and they started making the noise. It couldn't be the Orion causing the noise could it?
