Correct Way to Connect Switch

I read up on how to install a toggle switch to a amp and i got alot of different answers. i want to know exactly what wires to run where. can anybody help?

run the toggle through the remote wire...

then i drilled a hole in my dash and mounted it there. but you can put it anywhere you want

Isn't this what the "ATT" on the sub setting does? or does it just eliminate the pre-out signal?

some people use a lighted switch if so you'll have three connections on the switch...one will be grounded...one from the radio remote wire the other to the amp...that way when its switched on it will illuminate letting you know the amp is on

if it were me id just toggle the power wire with a home dimmer switch, that way it acts like a gain know too!
