Correct Match?

Alright, some of you may have seen my thread a couple of days ago about my new system. I have a 97 s-10 reg. cab pickup. I have a sealed box with a 10" Kicker comp. cvr. at 2ohm. My friend is letting me borrow his Pioneer GM-X862 amp. I was pretty happy w/ it at first but now i want an amp to get the sub to its full potential. I was looking around at circuit city today trying to find a better match for the sub and talking to the guy. He recommended the Kicker KX 350.2. Does this sound right? The reconmended peak rms for the sub is 300 i believe.

Also, i had the pioneer amp and kicker sub installed at the local shop for $60 because i dont know what im doing. But if i were to get the amp they want another $60 just to take out the pioneer and hook up the kicker amp. I really want to get around this. How hard is it to hook it up? All the wires are already run. I am just worried having all the right settings or is that easy?

I was looking online and would the kicker kx 400.1 be better than the kx 350.2 for the 2ohm sub?

thanks for your replies..

no that was to just switch them out. Would i need to replace the wires? I hope not, all this was just installed 5 days ago.

Also, i have a 10 gauge wiring kit. How much wattage can that handle.

thanks

would this amp work good with the 10" kicker cvr?

Edit* I was just reading the description and it says that it requires 8 gauge wires. So that means that the 10 gauge that i have right now wont work? This will really piss me off if thats true. Im new to car audio and just had the sub and amp installed on thursday. I think the shop talked me into the 10 gauge just so when i go to upgrade im going to have to upgrade all of that. And im new to car audio and dont think that i can do the wiring myself.

its pretty easy to replace an amp with wires ran already. all you need to do is tape the 8 ga to the 10 ga and pull it through hook it up to the battery last. only 2 wires ud be replacing are power and ground. depending on amp location it shouldnt take any more than an hour. if you dont feel comfortable read up on amp installations and see how comfortable you are after you read and go from there. that 400 would be sweet.

ok, well if i was so use an amp to power the speakers in the future would i keep the 10 gauge wiring in along with the 8 gauge for that kicker amp to power to sub?
