i understand where ur coming from. however, i think audiophiles like myself know this best. its not how much ur gear costs, or how rare, differently constructed , exotic your gear is.

Cause if u cant make use of this gear when it comes to tuning. it still sounds like ***.

but then again, im a sucker for dls ultimate amps or tru's.

paired with some aura subs, and scan speak revs all topped off with hiquophon ow1's and getting its signal from a denon z1 receiver and tweaked with audiocontrol or zapco processing and you have my friend a beautiful collection assuming u can tune it right.

Dont forget the sound insolating and dampening =]

old school usamps are the best amps to get. nothing compares really.

Big + is in the SQ lanes. Rare or different is worth points. + uber sq amps can help make the most of your speakers. I have a Milbert tube amp thats 15wx15w I paid close to $1500 for. Want to put you US amps up against it for pure Sq. Different amp different use. Like I said like the Us amps stuff. The tripath amps were especially nice.

LOL I had a Blazer I used to compete with. Was funny, it ran a pr of Jensen KA5's I think was the model#s. They were 5 channel amps. Each was bridges to 3channels. Got glowing reviews in the listening section of judging and great install points, but amp section was always marked down. No one could get past the word Jensen on them. Changed to a pr of Xtant 3300x's. Sq stayed similar, but install points went up by 15. Never changed the amp rack or anything.

That was a great model lineup for Jenson. Yes install and tuning make up a huge part, but little things can put a car over the top.

head over there and you'll find alot more info on rare things, and graphs klippel reviews, and a lot more sq oriented information. i learned more in a week over there than 6 months on here. no lie.

But i know what you mean. you get points on install for techflexing your wires, using white heatshrink. then using a label maker to identify wires and then clear heatshrink all over that.

color cordinating wires, using professional terminals into inputs over bare wire, reflective glass in a subbox displaying the magnet.

I understand your purchase. but i was just saying where information is lacking... dont make expensive purchases off rarity alone.

Not really I was competing in IASCA when I was 16. That was when IASCA was a real SQ orented compatition . Cheater amps were king. Dan Palompas has 40 speakers and 8 were subs off a 225HCCA. Clark was still competing with the buick and such. Saw the rise and fall of compresion drivers and aperiodic membranes!! LOL Now I can afford a spl can and a SQ car.
