cooling on a sub!!!! HELP!!!!!

I'm getting a recone done and i was just told i DON'T need spacers? The newer version of this sub has cooling on top of the motor( vents on the basket) if its not needed why do they have it? most newer subs have cooling in the basket and in the back of the motor right? 4 inch coil or not.

when the sub blew the motor was warm!!! more cooling would HELP this right?

a rockford power dvc. not a power hx2 but close. the space lets extra air in the gap to cool it i thought

spacer makes sure the coil is sitting in the right spot in the gap

I see you have a fixed amp in your sigs. Looks like you need to check the temperature of your stuff before it blows, if the motor was warm the cone had to be red hot.

so it does nothing for cooling?i dont know that's why i'm asking. it seens like it would. and the newer version of the sub has vents in the basket.

didn't do it on my set up. and i'm not even using that set up anymore. i need to change that and the cone wasn't hot for some reason

both of these were reconed by DD at different times and they came 2 different ways one using a spacer and one not using it. The spiders sat in a different spot though so the coil was still in the same spot in the gap at rest. I would assume it has a minimal effect on the cooling

the way that's done i dont see how any air could get in there. i should have gotten bolts put in between the motor and coil maybe

It also depends if the pole is vented or not, they try to exchange air in the coil not just move it back and forth.

what is it called when nuts are in between the motor and magnet? i thought those were spacers
