cool air intakes

so is that better than the intakes i linked before? for 70.. and tell me like exactly what it will do if i get it installed?

there will be no noise, nor will you even notice its there unless you are looking at it. it will make your engine run a bit cooler but thats about it. the only real advantage ive notice with the one that was in my car when i bought it is that the K&N filter itself can be cleaned. you will never have to replace it, ever. they have something outrageous like a 1,000,000 mile warranty on the filters. if you get the short ram intake, like the one people are linking you to, it will honestly take 10 minutes tops to install. its very easy.

check out civicforums.com youll get a few more serious responses and maybe youll find one for sale in the classifieds. i honestly dont know why you are asking a cold air intake question on a car audio forum and expecting to get help anyways. the level of maturity around here isnt all that high to begin with.

x2

chances are that you are looking at an ebay CAI which would probably not help anything, probably hurt you to be honest. Most "CAI" you see put the filter right in the engine bay, could just be my car but I know under the hood, 6" from the engine isn't the coolest place to be.

That being said if you get a REAL cold air intake that actually gets fresh/cool air than that would probably improve your gas mileage and performance. Not by much, and you probably wouldn't even notice it to be honest. When we dyno'd the superCoupe we did it with the stock intake setup, "ebay" cold air intake and then one I made the put the filter in the front bumper area where there was PLENTY of fresh air!

I don't remember the exact numbers (have the sheet somewhere) but I do remember the Stock setup put out like 3-5 RWHP MORE than the ebay intake and my intake put out about 7-8 RWHP more than the stock setup. Filters are important too, cheap filters are cheap for a reason.

EDIT: there WILL be some noise more than likely. Nothing extreme but when you have a "performance" filter feeding into a 2.5"+ thin walled aluminum tube there is def. more noise. My SuperCoupe for example... you could just barely hear the supercharge whine when it had the stock THICK as (i'm talkin like 1/4"+ thick) intercooler tubes but now I am running a front mount intercooler and some 2.5" tubing and the mother ****er makes some noise! Especially now with the 10% O.D. on the blower, going to be adding another 5% before too long....
