Convert Home DVD-MPEG

I burned some vhs-c tapes to DVD. Now I need some software to convert that DVD to MPEG. Preferably freeware, or something with a free trial. If you want to suggest something illegal, PM me, I am not asking for this, and yes this is home vids, not a Movie!

DVD Decrypter, ripped in IFO mode. Then use AutoGK to convert to .avi. Both should be free.

Cool, DVD decryptor is running now, i had that, now i am downloading Auto GK to get it to avi. KNow of a good editing rogram i can use to edit the video?
