Control Gain Knob

I know on some amps it basically just acts as a volume knob. I just got a nine.1 amp and i wanna know if i set the gains correctly on the amp but then i turn the remote knob up am resetting the gain or does it just act as a volume knob?

The remote gain controls I have used only attenuate the current gain setting. They do not override your settings on the amp.

The remote bass boost knobs are different though and adjust the bass boost from 0-xdBs. I hate those and wouldn't use one. I think the nine.1s use a remote gain and I would assume they work just like all the other remote gains I have used.

Alright thanks. So it basically is a volume knob in a way. The max on the knob is the actually setting i set it on the amp. Thanks for the reply.

Hmm, so the bass boost thing that came with BXi 1206D, I have it set at +18dB (which is where it was when I set my gains properly), should I turn it down all the way and redo my gains? Will it make a difference?

Well i had a hifonics titan and it said it was a bass boost knob but i think it was just a control gain knob because it just controlled the volume for me.

when setting ur gains on amps, make sure the gain knob is all the way up. this way when u go to use the knob u wont go over the real gain settings so no damage is done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit: let me clarify.

plug in the gain knob remote, turn that knob all the way up, now on ur amp set the gains properely.
