Control EQ from Tablet instead of HU?

I replaced my HU with a tablet and it is working wonderful, however I mounted my HU in a place that is not easily accessible (it is being used as the amplifier)

My question is should I set the audio settings on the HU to their defaults (excluding subwoofer level, xover, and speaker distance) and control it from the tablet or will that cause sound degradation?

I would think the volume wouldn't be as linear as controlling it with the HU. Not to mention just awkward. What else would you be controlling from the tablet?

The volume part isn't bad, I am actually using a bluetooth controller connected to the steering wheel for that. Im mostly concerned about how I should set up the HU, if I should tweak the settings on the HU and then tweak them again on the Tablet or leave the settings default on the HU and only tweak them on the tablet. essentially will there be a difference in sound quality between the EQ on the tablet vs the EQ on the HU?
